Nordaux is committed to complying with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), S.C. 2010, c. 23. This page explains how we obtain, manage, and respect your consent to receive commercial electronic messages (CEMs).
1. What Is CASL?
CASL regulates the sending of commercial electronic messages (email, SMS, and similar communications) to Canadian recipients. It requires senders to have consent, identify themselves clearly, and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism.
2. How We Obtain Consent
We only send marketing communications when you have given us express consent — meaning you checked a box or otherwise affirmatively opted in to receive rate alerts, newsletters, or promotional emails from us. We do not rely on implied consent for marketing messages.
3. What We Send
- Rate alerts — notifications when rates change significantly from tracked lenders.
- Newsletter — weekly or monthly mortgage market updates, guides, and educational content.
- Transactional messages — confirmations of pre-approval inquiries and contact form submissions. These are not marketing CEMs and are sent without explicit marketing consent.
4. Unsubscribing
Every marketing email we send includes a clearly labelled unsubscribe link. Clicking it will remove you from that mailing list within 10 business days, as required by CASL. You may also unsubscribe at any time via our contact page.
5. Record Keeping
We maintain records of all consent obtained, including the date, method, and scope of consent. These records are retained for a minimum of 3 years after consent expires or is withdrawn, in compliance with CASL requirements.
6. Contact Our CASL Officer
For questions about our CASL practices or to report a concern, please contact us. We take compliance seriously and will respond within 10 business days.
